La Tortuga enjoying French food

Family Time in Chico 10.21-24.2015

We driveway surfed at my niece’s house for four nights while visiting with family and friends. Our niece, Sarah Fragoso, was helping Rina Thoma with a French cookbook and we ate the results of each day’s recipes.

Instead of our usual day hike in Lassen Volcanic National Park, we opted to take a short hike to Monkey Face in Upper Bidwell Park. From the top of Monkey Face we looked down on the shrunken remains of Horseshoe Lake.

After spending so many long days sitting in the truck we needed some serious exercise and relished the workouts at J&S Strength and Conditioning.

We even squeezed in family gatherings at some favorite restaurants: breakfast at Sin of Cortez and dinner at Casa Ramos.

On Saturday we resupplied with fruits and vegetables at the wonderful Chico Farmers Market where we lunched on tamales and Chico Chai, continuing another family tradition.

Freshly stocked with food and clean clothes, we left in the afternoon for Belmont, California.
