Today we headed south on 99 through the Central Valley and stopped at a Whole Foods in Fresno for Groceries.
At Bakersfield we turned east on Hwy 178-E to go through the mountains by Lake Isabella and hopefully camp for the night. The storm hitting the northern Sierras is wind here. The campground at Lake Isabella has no trees or shelter and the BLM campground on the pass is even more windy.
If we had a camper we would have stayed in the BLM campground but it’s too windy to cook outside so we kept going in the dark until we reached Ridgecrest and stayed in a motel. Too tired to cook in the motel, we found tacos for dinner.
